An anonymous commenter, on the legal battle over an Arizona man’s right to fly the Gadsden “Don’t Tread On Me” flag:

Okay. If he were to fly a Mexican flag, ACLU would run to his aid to protect him. But since he’s flying a historic flag that carries meaning and pride to America, he’s not allowed.

Exactly! Except that, if you read the article instead of just watching the Fox News clip, the ACLU is defending him.

A, from New Jersey, on evolution:

If science and evolution were collect, then logic would command that there were billions, if not zillions, of aborted organisms that couldn’t survive…you know, those with three lungs, three livers, or whose heart had an extra valve. Where are all the fossils of the billions of mutants that would HAVE TO HAVE existed? Why don’t you religion-haters ask that question the next time you go to a museum?

Me, I’ll be in church.

What? Animals with mutations die all the time? Well, I require exactly 3.4 zillion freaky mutant fossils to believe it. Get digging, and I’ll see you in a furfillion years.

P.S. I seem to think people have two livers.

AskMe, on racism:

Just because you probably aren’t up on your vocabulary:

A racist is someone who feels that anyone and everyone of a particular race is lower or less human than they are, just because that person is a member of such race.

You have to hate asians because they are asian to be a racist, not just hate one or even 200 asians.

Just like you have to hate the Irish because they’re Irish, not because they’re pasty, degenerate drunks. Or how you can say anything you want about Black people as long as you enjoy Morgan Freeman. It’s almost impossible to be racist nowadays, unless you’re actively involved in genocide. Even then there are loopholes.

Jeff, from Long Beach, California, on Michael Enright’s stabbing of a Muslim cab driver:

The guy never told the driver that he hates Muslims, just asked him if he was. By cutting the man up after having been a volunteer with a group that supports interfaith tolerence and the Ground Zero Mosque, one wonders if this was an attempt to create a sympathetic Muslim figure(Martyr), as a chess move to stir animosity against those who oppose the Ground Zero Mosque. Since this is a common Muslim tactic, it may not be as far fetched as it sounds.

Muslims are so hilariously evil that even when they get stabbed they’re probably in on it.

Also, remind me never to play chess with Jeff.

Bob N., from Australia, on the news that Ken Mehlman is gay:

He’s homosexual, not gay. Gay is just a PC word created by homosexuals as a generic “feel good” identification. “Don we now our gay apparel” doesn’t mean dressing up like a @#$% for Christmas.

Sorry, “gay” people, we need that word for describing hall-decking outfits, the 1890s, and time spent with the Flintstones. Can’t spare it. But here, take this one for a bundle of sticks: we’re not using it much, and Yahoo! automatically replaces it with punctuation marks anyway. Don’t say we never did anything for you.

Christopher, from Louisiana, on Tiger Woods’ ex-wife:

What does she have to cry about? She got a big payday and a couple of mud babies out of it.

on Miss Universe:

If the illegal aliens looked more like her I wouldn’t have such a problem with them. We get Mexico’s trash.

on Iran:

What the heck is Israel waiting for? Light up these pita-eatin’ sons-a-b*tches!

on Mexico:

Could we have possibly picked a worse neighbor to found a nation next to?

on President Obama:

Obongo.

…and finally, on accusations of racism on the Right:

Liberals can always be counted on to cry “racism!”, “xenophobia!” or “bigotry!” in situations like this. This is because Liberals haven’t much in common with rational thought.

Are you listening, liberals? Calling patriots like Christopher racist is completely irrational.

Luke S., from Illinois, on American history:

The Native Americans were defeated and there land was taken. If we didnt do it, then someone else would have. Would you like for us to be conquered and america taken over by islam or other outside countrys or groups?

Yes, genocide is often the lesser of two evils.

Enigma, from Pennsylvania, on the charges that Michael Enright stabbed a New York City cab driver for being Muslim:

I have to tell this story. My son was working in Manhattan in September of 2001. Shortly after 9/11, a muslim cab driver almost ran him off the road on his way to work. My son pulled his car in front of the M’s to get him to stop his car so that he could ask why he was driving in such an irratic manner. The M then proceeded to threaten to kill my son. My son, then proceeded to rearrange his face and there was a Police Officer standing on the corner observing the entire incident. The Officer actually saluted my son and told him to have a nice day.

I miss the way we all came together after 9/11. NYPD, you used to be cool.

Thomas T., from Calabash, North Carolina, on Islam:

Muslims are NOT a peace loving religion. Peace lovers don’t kill innocent people for the sake of religious principles. I would have no trouble pulling the trigger on these haters, none what-so-ever !!

Makes sense.

Note to residents of Calabash, North Carolina: Thomas has a permit to carry concealed and brings his gun to work at the “big home improvement store.” So if you’re handy around the house, try not to be Muslim.

WTF, on Islamophobia:

People must understand, there are penalties, and repercussions that affect us ALL when a wrong is committed! We had a muslim attempted shoe bomber, now we have to take our shoes off at the airport, we had a homegrown terrorist who blew up a federal building, now we have to go through detectors to get into buildings, we had 911, now nobody wants a mosque, or muslims. There are prices to be paid wether or not we like it.

It’s only fair: I have to take my shoes off at the airport, and you are feared and reviled by the rest of America. Don’t like it? Wear loafers and stop being you.
